CALL FOR CONCEPT PAPERS: Integration of Family Planning into Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health Programs or Food Assistance Programs

January 12th, 2011: US-based private voluntary organizations (PVOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), including faith-based organizations (FBOs) are advised of an opportunity to submit a concept paper as a first step in a competitive process to support community-based family planning activities in developing countries. This solicitation is issued by World Learning under the Grants Solicitation and Management (GSM) program, on behalf of the USAID Office of Population and Reproductive Health (PRH), Service Delivery Improvement Division. Awards issued as a result of this solicitation will support organizations to integrate quality family planning programs and activities in developing countries into their on-going health and development activities in USAID PRH priority countries. The goal of this solicitation is to increase use of voluntary family planning services and to provide lessons learned and best practices on integration of family planning into either maternal, newborn, and child health (including nutrition) platforms or food assistance platforms.

Funding will be provided by the USAID/GH/PRH Flexible Fund through the GSM program. It is anticipated that awards under this solicitation will be for approximately $50,000 to $75,000 for a period of no more than fifteen (15) months, as an addition to the existing maternal, newborn, child health or food assistance activity of the PVO/NGO. USAID anticipates multiple awards will be made as a result of this solicitation. An organization may submit only one Concept Paper.
